Name of the Post - District Sports Officers, Assistant Director of Sports and Youth Services, Gr-A
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :-

1) Visits to Primary School for implementation of the syllabus in Physical
Education, conduct of week and guidance courses for Primary teachers on
matters dealing with sports and physical Education in Primary School.
2) Visits to Secondary School with the object of rendering assistance to
Physical Education Teachers in Secondary School for implementing the
syllabus of the National Fitness Corps and organising sports, games and
youth services, conduct of weekend and other types of orientation courses for
these teachers.
3) Visit to Teacher Training Institutions in Physical Education and conduct of
Coaching Camps in Sports, Games for teachers and Sports workers, etc.
4) Collection of information in respect of facilities pertaining to Physical
Education, Sports and Games in Schools, Colleges of the Districts.
5) Conduct of Sports competitions, Youth Welfare and Social Services camps at
District level.
6) Conduct of Coaching classes in Sports and games for students, conduct of
tests in National Physical Efficiency Drive, conduct of tests for scholarships in
Sports.
7) Visits to Gymnasia and recommending grant-in-aid to them.
8) Visits to Sports Bodies and submitting their reports for their Developments,
administration etc. to the directorate of Sports and Youth Services,
Maharashtra State, Pune.
9) Organisation of various projects such as Republic Day Festival, Sports
Festival, rallies, various types of camps and tours.
10) Work in connection with (i) Multigame District Sports Associations and (ii) The
District Stadium Committee.
11) Work in connection with the District Youth Welfare Committee.
12) All administrative matters relating to physical Education, Sports, Youth
Welfare and Youth Services such as scouting and Guiding, NCC, N.F.C.,
N.S.O. Civil Defence and the like.
13) Any other work that may be entrusted to them by the Director of Sports and
Youth Services.
